Aaliyah Daniel Haughton exploded into fame in 1994 when she released her debut album Age Ain't Nothing But an Numer. The album, released when she only had 15 years of age, went Gold. This collaboration, heavily influenced R. Kelly's musical style, made her a star. In 1996, she debuted her sophomore album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. It contained the top-selling track If Your Girl only knew. After the debut of the album Aaliyah gained international attention for her performance as an R&B performer. In 2000 she appeared as a character in Romeo Must Die, a romantic action film with Jet-Li. Her role came about when she was spotted by the film's director Joel Silver at an awards show. Queen of the Damned was her first film role in 2002. It is based off The Anne Rice novel. After that, she entered the Matrix with her role as Zee on The Matrix Sequels having also been as a character in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Mann uses Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar as her professional name. Although she began with small TV and movie roles, her acting started becoming more popular in the turn of the century. She has also appeared in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. She's appeared in many commercials, including Volvo's global car manufacturer. She lives in Los Angeles along with her husband, daughter and pursues her acting profession.
