Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963 into the musically inclined family of Newark New Jersey is the daughter of Gospel star Cissy Houston and John Russell Houston Jr. She's also the cousin of the singer Dionne Warwick. The mother of Whitney Houston and her daughter began singing professionally in the church of New Hope Baptist in Newark when Whitney was only fifteen years old. The two sang backing vocals in Chaka Khan's track from 1978 Im Every Woman. After that, she began to perform backing vocals for Lou Rawls, Jermaine, and even her mother. The high quality of her performance as the vocalist featured in New York funk group Material was noticed by big record companies, like Arista and Arista, which she was signed in 1982, and was with them for the rest of her life with them. It was also in 1993 that she married Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition singer with whom she bore her sole daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. In 1996 her daily consumption of the drug was well-documented.
